Cessford Mannville S13S Pool
The Cessford Mannville S13S Pool consists of a 4 meter thick basal sandstone in the Glauconite member of the Lower Mannville.
The Mannville S13S is described as very- fine to fine grained sandstone deposited as a point bar in a fluvial channel system. The gamma-ray and SP open hole logs indicate a fining upward sequence with a cleaner (~5% shale) sand at the base of the unit grading to a shalier (~15% shale)sand towards the upper part of the sand unit.
The type log for the pool 100/13-18-025-11W4/00 is presented below. Structure mapping indicates the sand is trapped on a localized structure likely developed by deep seated faulting or salt solution. Net pay mapping of Mannville S13S indicates the pool may be open for additional development to the north and horizontal development.
